Our focus is on caring for children, adults, and those with special needs who have a wide range of visual dysfunctions including:
Binocular Vision Disorders
Visual Processing Delays
Acquired Brain Injury
Poor Spatial Awareness
Computer Vision Syndrome
Comprehensive Eye Exams
For infants, children, adolescents, and adults, as well as those with learning disabilities, developmental delays, autism, acquired and traumatic brain injuries, and other special needs. Includes assessment of visual acuities, color vision, depth perception, ocular alignment and mobility, refractive error, and a complete health evaluation of the internal and external eye structures.
A Sensorimotor Evaluation assesses the ability and accuracy of visual fixation, eye movements, tracking skills, the accommodative system, and binocularity.
A Visual Processing Evaluation assesses skills that are necessary for learning. It includes, but is not limited to, visual memory, discrimination, figure ground, and spatial relations. Additionally, eye-hand coordination, visual motor integration, spatial awareness, bilateral integration, and reversal recognition skills are evaluated. Combined, these skills make up the framework that allows us to learn, read, write, compute, comprehend, and maneuver through the world.
A customized vision therapy program is developed to treat children and adults with amblyopia, strabismus, decreased visual skills, deficient visual processing skills, and traumatic or acquired brain injuries. Our vision therapy program consists of a one-on-one 45-minute office visit per week along with assigned home activities.
